Multiplying relationships, growth, & influence

Immaculate Reception

There’s no doubt that when Christ came to earth in the from of a human baby that two worlds essentially came crashing together. To this day it was an unprecedented display of love and devotion to God’s favorite part of his creation. Not only was it a display of love, but it was a rescue mission, not for a few, but for the entire world.

The amazing part of the story doesn’t stop there though. In fact, what is quite possibly the most amazing part of the story is still in effect today, changing lives for all of eternity. The most amazing part of this story of love, devotion, and rescue, is that nearly 2,000 years ago, anyone who claimed that Jesus was the Christ, the Messiah Son of God, was given the right to be called a son or daughter of God. Imagine, spending your entire life knowing that you aren’t “good enough” to enter into a personal relationship with the creator of the universe. Then it all changes and you’re given the opportunity to not only be in a relationship with him, but to become a son or a daughter of God; you’re able to become an heir to God’s Kingdom. This wasn’t a one time opportunity though. The promise still stands that anyone who receives Jesus as the Christ is given the right to become a son or daughter of God.

This Christmas season we’re exploring what an Immaculate Reception looks like. We’re going to be stretched and we’re going to be given the opportunity to become sons and daughters of God.
