aftermath
People say that there are world changing events that happen everyday. Things like a butterfly flapping its wings on one side of the planet can cause a hurricane on the other side.
Now, I don’t know if that’s true, but it’s probably safe to say that we’ve all lived through some seriously world changing events. Events like…9/11, the assassination of JFK, the Civil Rights movement, the first moon landing…this is all stuff that drastically changed how the world perceives pretty much everything.
The truth is though, that while these events did change the thought patterns, understandings, & perspectives of almost everyone on the planet, there are only a few days in all of history that really changed the world. These are the days that we are currently living in the aftermath of. And, perhaps the day that made the biggest change was Easter.
I hate to break it to you, but we don’t celebrate Easter because there really is a rabbit that hops around & leaves eggs all over the place. The reason we celebrate Easter is because that is the day where everything changed. It’s the single most important day in all of history because Easter is when death & sin were defeated & Jesus said that we don’t have to be “good enough.”
He paid the price for all who are willing to accept his grace & live in the aftermath.
